Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your Egyptian adventure begins the moment you touch down at the international airport in the capital, where a dedicated iEgypt Travels representative will be waiting to welcome you and handle all arrival formalities. A private, air-conditioned vehicle will whisk you comfortably to your hotel, and the remainder of the day is entirely yours to rest and settle in at your own pace.
After breakfast, set out for the Pyramids of Giza, where the three great pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos rise dramatically from the plateau alongside the enigmatic Great Sphinx. You will also explore the Valley Temple, a striking example of ancient Egyptian funerary architecture. Lunch at a local restaurant follows before you head to the Egyptian Museum, whose vast halls shelter one of the richest collections of antiquities on earth, including the celebrated treasures of Tutankhamun.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the capital’s airport for your flight south to Aswan. On arrival, your guide will lead you to the enchanting Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and beautifully situated on an island in the Nile. You will also visit the High Dam, one of Egypt's most significant modern engineering achievements, before boarding your deluxe Nile cruise ship, which will be your floating home for the next several nights.
Sailing northward, you arrive at Kom Ombo Temple, a remarkably symmetrical double sanctuary consecrated jointly to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, with an adjacent Crocodile Museum adding fascinating context. The cruise then continues to Edfu, where a horse-drawn carriage carries you to the Temple of Horus, widely regarded as one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt. After exploring this magnificent Ptolemaic monument, you return to the ship and sail onward toward Luxor.
The morning takes you to Luxor's storied West Bank, the eternal resting ground of Egypt's most powerful pharaohs. You will descend into the Valley of the Kings, where the richly decorated tombs of rulers such as Ramses and Seti have endured for millennia, with an optional visit to Tutankhamun's tomb available. The tour continues to the cliff-carved Temple of Hatshepsut before a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the two towering seated statues that have guarded the Theban plain for over three thousand years.
Breakfast precedes a morning on Luxor's East Bank, beginning at the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple Complex, whose forest of towering columns, sacred lake, and layered centuries of royal construction make it one of the largest religious sites ever built. You will then walk through the atmospheric Luxor Temple, once linked to Karnak by the grand Avenue of Sphinxes. Later in the day, a transfer to Luxor Airport connects you with your flight back to Cairo, where you check in for a final night in the capital.
Savour a last breakfast in the land of the pharaohs before your iEgypt Travels representative arrives to escort you to the international airport in the capital for your onward departure. This final transfer brings to a close seven days of history, wonder, and discovery along the Nile—memories that are sure to last a lifetime.
