Egypt Solar Eclipse Tours
On 2 August 2027 the Moon's shadow crosses North Africa, and Egypt sits directly under it. Luxor falls inside the path of totality and will see more than six minutes of full darkness — one of the longest totalities visible from land this century, over a place where people have watched the sky for four thousand years.
Totality of that length is rare. Most total eclipses last two to three minutes; the 2027 track over southern Egypt is exceptional both for its duration and for its near-certain clear August skies. Eclipse chasers book these trips years in advance, and accommodation along the centre line is limited.
These itineraries put you inside the path on eclipse day and build a proper Egyptian holiday around it — Cairo and the pyramids, the temples of Luxor and Aswan, a Nile cruise, or the Red Sea. Each trip is private and can be shaped around your dates.
Places are genuinely limited by hotel capacity on and around 2 August 2027. Speak to a specialist early if this is a trip you want to make.
