Day-by-Day Itinerary
Met on arrival and transferred into the city. If your flight lands early enough you visit the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square, still the best introduction to what the rest of the trip will show you in place.
A guided day across the plateau at Giza and the older step pyramid at Saqqara, tracing how pyramid building developed over a few centuries. Evening at leisure before the flight south.
You fly south in the morning and take your place for the total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027. Totality lasts several minutes here, long enough to see the corona settle and the temperature drop. Afterwards you board your ship and sail.
Across the river to the royal necropolis, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon standing alone in the fields. Back on board for lunch as the ship continues south.
The great falcon temple at Edfu in the morning, then the double sanctuary at Kom Ombo in the late afternoon light, before the final stretch of sailing towards Aswan.
Disembark after breakfast for the island temple of Philae, the granite quarries and the dam that reshaped the valley, then fly back north for your last night.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
