Quad Bike Safari in Sharm El Sheikh

Ride a quad bike out of Sharm El Sheikh and into the open Sinai desert, finishing as the light turns gold over the Red Sea mountains. It is the most popular late-afternoon excursion in Sharm, and it needs no experience at all. Before you set off there is a safety briefing and a short test drive on flat ground, so you can get used to the throttle and brakes with your guide watching. Helmets and protective gear are provided. Once everyone is comfortable, the group follows the guide out along desert trails and across low dunes, with stops to take photographs and let the dust settle. Two versions. The standard trip is the ride itself. The extended version adds a Bedouin dinner and evening entertainment once the sun has gone down, which is the better choice if you want to make an evening of it rather than be back at the hotel by dark. Bedouin tea is offered on both. Who it suits. Anyone comfortable operating a twist throttle can drive. Children usually ride as passengers with an adult rather than driving their own machine, and this is worth confirming when you book so the right machines are reserved. Riders who want more speed should say so, as the guide sets the pace for the slowest in the group. What to wear. Cover your arms and legs if you can, because desert sand at speed is abrasive. Sunglasses are genuinely useful rather than optional, and a scarf or buff over your nose and mouth makes the ride far more pleasant. Do not wear anything you mind getting dusty, and leave loose jewellery at the hotel. Practical notes.
