Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your family's Egyptian adventure kicks off the moment you touch down at the international airport in the capital, where a friendly iEgypt Travels representative will be on hand to greet you, help with any arrival formalities, and whisk you away in a private, comfortable vehicle to your family-friendly Cairo hotel. The remainder of the day is entirely yours — rest up, settle in, and let the excitement of what lies ahead sink in.
Following breakfast, your dedicated private Egyptologist guide leads the family to the Great Pyramids of Giza — the towering monuments of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos — along with a close encounter with the legendary Great Sphinx. A short camel ride around the plateau adds a dash of fun for kids and grown-ups alike. In the afternoon, the group heads to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, where ancient mummies, colossal statues, and the glittering treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb await, before a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant rounds out the day.
After a morning meal and hotel check-out, the family heads to the airport for a short domestic flight to Sharm El Sheikh on the Red Sea coast. On arrival, you'll transfer directly to your beachfront resort, where the sparkling turquoise waters and warm sunshine invite you to unwind by the pool or take a refreshing dip in the sea for the rest of the day.
Today belongs entirely to your family — spend it however suits you best. Snorkeling, sandcastle building, and sunbathing are all on the table, or you can opt for one of the available activities such as glass-bottom boat rides, quad biking, or a desert safari. There's truly something to delight every age group along this stunning stretch of the Red Sea.
After breakfast and check-out, the family transfers to Sharm El Sheikh Airport for the return flight to the capital, where your guide will be waiting to escort you to your hotel. The evening is free — whether you prefer to recharge quietly or venture out to soak up more of the city's vibrant atmosphere is entirely up to you.
An early morning flight carries the family south to Aswan in Upper Egypt, where the pace of life slows and the scenery becomes breathtaking. First stop is the magnificent Philae Temple, an island sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis, followed by a boat ride along the Nile to a traditional Nubian Village, where colorful painted homes, warm local hospitality, and handcrafted souvenirs offer a genuinely memorable cultural experience.
Sailing northward along the Nile, the first highlight is Kom Ombo Temple, a remarkable dual sanctuary honoring both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. The cruise then continues to Edfu, where a charming horse-drawn carriage ride delivers you to the Temple of Horus, one of the finest-preserved ancient temples in all of Egypt, before you return onboard for a relaxing evening on the river.
Today the family explores Luxor's celebrated West Bank, beginning with the Valley of the Kings, where the elaborately decorated royal tombs of ancient pharaohs are carved deep into the limestone cliffs. The itinerary also takes in the striking terraced Hatshepsut Temple and the iconic Colossi of Memnon, the two towering seated statues that have guarded the Theban plain for millennia.
After breakfast and disembarkation, attention turns to Luxor's East Bank, starting with the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple complex, a forest of towering columns and sacred halls built over centuries by successive pharaohs. A visit to Luxor Temple follows before the family transfers to the airport for the flight back to the capital, where the evening is free to enjoy a final taste of the capital.
Enjoy a final breakfast at your the capital hotel before checking out and making your way to the international airport in the capital with the iEgypt Travels team. As you board your homeward flight, you'll carry with you ten days' worth of extraordinary memories — ancient wonders, Red Sea sunshine, Nile breezes, and the genuine warmth of Egyptian hospitality.
